The general qualification for membership is: an adult person of good character and good business or professional reputation engaged in any worthy and recognized business or profession.
Specific qualifications are: engaged as proprietor, partner, corporate officer or manager or holds an important position in an executive capacity with discretionary authority, or acts as the local agent or branch representative having charge of such agency or branch in an executive position, and is personally and actively engaged in the business or profession in which classified in the club.
Members are chosen through a series of steps:
1. A member of this Rotary Club sponsors your membership;
2. The Classification Committee verifies your occupation and agrees that you hold an important position in your firm, that you are an outstanding leader in your vocation.
3. The Membership Committee verifies your personal reputation, both in your business and in the community.
4. The Board of Directors upholds the decisions of the two committees.
5. Your name is published, as a prospective member, in the club’s weekly newsletter, giving the membership an opportunity to react to your proposal.
