Sunday, September 13^th from 3 p.m. ‘til 8 p.m. ‘ish

Mark your calendars now to join us for a Fall Family Fun affair for the Rotary Club of Lexington, held at Spindletop Hall on 13 September 2009.  As a kickoff to our fundraising efforts for 2010, we’ll have a door prize drawing for five lucky Rotarians to win a ticket to the 2010 Sweetheart Soiree, benefitting the Surgery on Sunday Lexington Rotary Club Endowment Fund.

 Just a short 7 miles from Downtown Lexington, Spindletop Hall is a bluegrass treasure.  We’ll get to experience it all on Sunday September 13^th from 3 p.m. until whenever your fellow Rotarian Gerald Marvel kicks you out (not likely)!  All you’ve got to do is come, and at only $5 per adult and $3 per child, you won’t want to miss out.  There will be a Croquet tutorial and play beginning at 3 p.m. (signup strongly encouraged) on the area’s only professional quality croquet court.   For those not interested in wearing the whites (just kidding, Croquet Whites are not required for this event), we’ll have a Cornhole Tournament beginning at 4 p.m.  Pick a partner, or let us pick you a partner, and get ready to toss ‘til you drop.  We’ll have a small entry fee to fund the prize for the winning team. 

There’ll also be swimming (the last chance in Lexington for the season), tennis, and board games, and all around fun for the kids.  We’ll be entertained by the musical genius of another fellow Rotarian, and be able to order a la carte from the great Tiki Bar menu at Spindletop.  The menu includes Angus burgers, salmon burgers, quesadillas, vegetarian options, and much more.  And lest we forget, there’ll be beverages aplenty, and a great selection including specialty cocktails (full bar) and smoothies, for the young and the young at heart.   There’ll be a Rotarian’s Special to boot!
